چکیده

Introduction Dynamic contrast enhanced (DCE-MRI) of the breast should ideally be performed at high temporal and high spatial resolution to evaluate both enhancement dynamics and lesion spatialarchitectural features (1,2). There is, however, an inherent tradeoff between the maximum achievable temporal and spatial resolution (3). In this work, a formalism is presented that considers the dual bandwidth properties of an object’s spatial and temporal enhancement features, in devising a segmented k-space 3D (NX readout, NY N, phase encode) acquisition scheme.

Spatio-temporal bandwidth-based acquisition for dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging.

PURPOSE To develop a k-space formalism that provides a rationale for the design of variable-rate acquisition schemes for dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI). METHODS AND MATERIALS The formalism, termed spatio-temporal bandwidth-based (STBB) analysis, is demonstrated using a priori modeling of object and enhancement characteristics typically observed in DCE-MRI of br...

Ultra high spatio-temporal resolution hepatic MRI using a novel 2-point Dixon time resolved 3D SPGR sequence at 3T

Introduction: Dynamic contrast enhanced MRI (DCEMRI) is commonly used in abdominal-pelvic imaging for detection and characterization of primary and metastatic lesions. Current methods have adequate spatial resolution but the temporal resolution is often insufficient for visualization of hypervascular tumors. Optimal timing of the contrast arrival and robust fat suppression are the two critical ...

Standardization of Radiological Evaluation of Dynamic Contrast Enhanced MRI

Dynamic contrast enhanced MRI is applied as an adjuvant tool for breast cancer detection, diagnosis, and follow-up of therapy. Despite improvements through the years in achieving higher spatial and temporal resolution, it still suffers from lack of scanning and processing standardization, and consequently, high variability in the radiological evaluation, particularly differentiating malignant f...

Beyond Low Rank + Sparse: Multi-scale Low Rank Reconstruction for Dynamic Contrast Enhanced Imaging

PURPOSE: Dynamic Contrast Enhanced (DCE) MRI is a powerful method that can provide comprehensive information to characterize lesions. High temporal resolution is often desired for 3D DCE, but at the cost of lower spatial resolution. Low rank / partial separable methods offer an effective way of balancing this tradeoff by exploiting spatio-temporal correlations of dynamic images. However, existi...
